Old School Sod Harvesting
When sod harvesting first began, sod was harvested by hand with walk behind sod cutters and rolled up by hand. The sod was then hand stacked on the trucks in a pyramid type pattern. The sod was then delivered to the customer, then unloaded by hand. Years later, sod harvesters progressed, rolling up the sod for a person on the back of the machine to stack on the pallet. Since that type of harvester, there are fully automated harvesters that took their place.
